Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Mining Permit application over 5 ha, in Schweizer-Reneke District, Mamusa Local Municipality, Blyvooruitzicht 51 HO - (a certain portion of the Remaining Extent)

Expanded_Motivation: 

This will be a very small project with low impacts (only 5 ha). The application area is situated over an area that is over natural vegetation, amongst other old mining activities. The proposed application area is situated not far from the R506 tar road (2 km), which runs between Schweizer-Reneke and Delareyville. But access is gain via R504. The infrastructure over the application area is: gravel road and fence lines. There are no other structures over this application area. It is part of the bigger farm portion of the rest of the Remaining Extent of the farm Blyvooruitzicht 51 HO. Access to the farm is gained by via the Klipspruit gravel roads that turns off from the R504 tar road 18.5 km north, north-east of Schweizer-Reneke. It will be a small scale diamond mining operation. The main mining activities will be excavation of Alluvial Diamond bearing gravel resource, and processing it through a washing plant. All the waste from the screening and washing plant will be placed back into the bottom of the excavation, here after the topsoil will be replaced back as a growth medium and the surface will be levelled.
