Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

ProposalDescription: 

The proposed greenfield development is aimed providing social housing to beneficiaries within the Msunduzi Local Municipality. The proposed site has a total of approximately 6.962 ha and is located within Ward 18 of the Msunduzi Municipality. The property making up the project area is Erf 174 of the Slang Spruit Township.

Expanded_Motivation: 

There are no Critical Biodiversity Areas, watercourses or drainage lines located within the project area, however, according to the Msunduzi Environmental Management Framework, the site was classified as having high biodiversity constraints and steep slopes. Majority of the site is vacant, and a dwelling house is located within the south western portion of the site. The proposed development will entail the following: • Removal of vegetation • Construction of 10 residential blocks with a total number of approximately 504 units • Internal pipeline infrastructure for water supply and waterborne sewage • Internal roads and stormwater infrastructure • Land will also be set aside for a club house, gate house, community centre and refuse room
