Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Tarlton Matshelapata Proposed 11kv Powerline Spanning Over Graves.

Proposed construction of approximately 1km 11kv powerline from Tarlton substation to electrify the Matshelapata Informal settlement next to the N14 highway in Wolfelea AH, Mogale City, Gauteng Province. The conductor of the proposed powerline will span over a grave site indentified on site.

Expanded_Motivation: 

Eskom Gauteng Cluster has Initiated a project to electrify the Matshelapata Informal settlement in Wolfelea AH, Gauteng province for the financial year 2023/24 from the Eskom Tarlton substation. During the site walk through, a small grave site of about 15 unmarked graves was indentified along the powerline route. The graves were identified on the farm Vlakplaats 160 IQ near Magaliesburg, the two nearest wooden poles supporting the conductor will be planted 50m away from the grave site on either side with the conductor spanning over the grave site (see attached spanning plan).
