ProposalDescription:

Proposed use of an image which includes the Union Buildings Complex situated at Government Avenue, Portion of the farm Elandspoort 357-JR, City of Tshwane, Gauteng.

Expanded_Motivation:

Ferrero iThemba RSA Proprietary Limited, a private company duly registered in accordance with the laws of South Africa ("our Client"), manufactures certain products, including a hazelnut cocoa spread sold under the NUTELLA trade mark. Our Client wishes to use images of different National and Provincial Heritage sites, heraldic representations and/or monuments including the Union Buildings Complex for its "Love Your Country" campaign, which is intended to run from June 2024 to December 2024 to celebrate and promote South Africa's heritage and different provinces. This is a temporary campaign with the purpose of promoting a sense of South African pride. The Union Buildings have played a fundamental role in shaping the history of South Africa through their association with the political events, developments and work of people and organisations throughout the country's political history. As such, the Union Buildings signify a place or site of significance which enriches people's lives and provides a deep and inspirational sense of Ubuntu and city landscape. It is therefore a tangible expression of a proudly South African identity and experience which our client wishes to celebrate through its "Love Your Country" campaign, aiming to evoke a deep sense of national pride and foster a strong connection with the city of Pretoria.
