Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Expanded_Motivation: 

Jeffares & Green (Pty) Ltd [Jeffares & Green] have been appointed as lead design and engineering consultant as well as independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) by the project proponent and landowner, Volkswagen South Africa, for the proposed Extension to the Existing Volkswagen Body Shop Project, situated at the Volkswagen Plant, Uitenhage, Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM), Eastern Cape [1:50,000 Map Ref – 3325CD]. The Extension to the Existing Volkswagen Body Shop Project study site is situated at general development co-ordinate S33°47’13.5”; E25°25’04.0”, with the site comprising an approximate 100mx130m (1.3ha) area. The study site is accessible via the Algoa Road access way to the Volkswagen Plant. The site is characterised by an existing building. The vernacular building is believed to be approximately 50 years of age. The building comprises a single story brick building, used for a combination of office, workshop and ablution facilities. The development application includes demolition of the existing building and reconstruction of a new building. The proposed new building will be an extension of the existing steel structure, with sheet cladded sides and roof, situated mainly towards the north-west of, and immediately adjoining the study site.
