Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Dear SAHRA Without any further information obtainable on the future of Pretoria Leprosy Hospital, I remain concerned about the preservation of these historic buildings, and the futures of those currently occupying them. I request clarification on the the Developer's intentions with the buildings. As the site's current residents pose a significant threat to the physical integrity of the site due to their lack of basic resources, a collaboration of people has arranged for the donation of solar units to the residents, hoping to ease the burden currently placed on the material resources of the heritage site. Although the installation of these units will not damage the buildings in any way, I request clarification from SAHRA as to the appropriateness of this donation, especially in light of the development plans at the site. I'd greatly appreciate communication on this matter. Kind regards Benjamin
