Question:

Why is the location map not working from a kml file?

Answer:

Mapping directly from a kml file works if you haven't changed the default polygon settings in Google Earth. We've found that the additional attributes created in the kml file when changing the default polygon styles sometimes result in errors that the OpenLayers module cannot handle in SAHRIS. In Google Earth, the current default polygon style has a white background fill colour - don't set this to transparent or outline only - simply accept the polygon as it is, save it and upload it to SAHRIS.
