Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

About the Survey: 

Day 1, 2 May 2014:

Group 1: Kyla Bluff, Ken Bluff, Wesley Flear, Klaus Minges, Nic Wiltshire
Surveyed from the finger painted boulder site (DWARS2) near the Wolfberg Cracks parking lot, moving southeast towards Matjiesrivier. Surveyed the upper ridge then down to the river as far as the major bend just past the private house overlooking the river (which has been built on the west bank).

Group 2: Phil & Gill Cohen, Janette Deacon, Cilla Williams, Rika du Plessis
Surveyed the remaining area behind Stadsaal towards the Kromrivier road and across the road toward the river but not all the way down. Janette and Rika recorded sites that rangers had previously found.
