Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

About the Survey: 

The eCRAG group set out to survey 4 sites identified by the CapeNature field rangers and to cover the area south of the main valley at Leeuwvlak. One of the sites turned out to be a false match to the GPS, while the other 3 were valid (although only one had significant rock art). The final one with paintings was actually a Rabinowitz site (LEEUW7) which we had been wondering about for some time.
