Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Heritage Impact Assessment for the Mining Rights Application located on Portion 11 and Portion 34 of the Farm Cyferfontein 457-KR in the Waterberg District Municipality of the Limpopo Province.

Expanded_Motivation: 

G&A Heritage was appointed by Manyabe Consultancy to undertake a heritage impact assessment for the Mining Rights Application on Portion 11 and Portion 34 of the Farm Cyferfontein 457-KR in the Bela Bela Local Municipality, Waterberg District Municipality of the Limpopo Province. Aquarella Investments 389 (Pty) Ltd have been granted Prospecting Rights and therefore needs to proceed with Mining Rights on Portion 11 and 34 of the Farm Cyferfontein 457-KR. The company is currently mining clay on the adjacent property. An EMPr was previously submitted under the old Act. A conversion application was also submitted. The existing mine and the proposed site are separated by a fence. The scope of works is: • The expansion of the existing clay mine on the neighbouring property • Mining rights for the whole 350ha • The area to the north of the access road will not not be affected
