Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

By virtue of the powers vested in me by section 10 (1) of the National Monuments Act, 1969 (Act 28 of 1969). I, Pieter Gerhardus Jacobus Koornhof. Minister of National Education, hereby declare the Moffat and Hamilton houses, as well as the coach-house, together with six metres of ground surrounding each, situated on the remainder of Erf 5, Kuruman, to be a national monument.

The property with the Moffat and Hamilton houses. as well as the coach-house thereon, together with six metres of ground surrounding each. situated on the remainder of Erf 5 and described as a piece of land measuring 252 morgen and 416 square roods. situated in the Division of Kuruman. 

Kuruman Quitrent-tenure. Volume I (No. II). dated 15 March 1888.

Historical and architectural interest
The Moffat and Hamilton houses and the coach-house, together with the already proclaimed Mission Church, form the nucleus of the famous Kuruman Mission established by Robert Moffat in 1824
