Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Relocation Of 24 Graves With Test Excavations From Samancor Chrome Limited On The Farm Spitskop 333 Kt, In Steelpoort Within The Sekhukhune District Municipality Limpopo Province

Expanded_Motivation: 

PGS Heritage has been appointed by Samancor Chrome Limited, to affect the relocation of 13 grave areas with test excavations as claimed by the family representatives and of 11 possible unknown grave areas located on the Spitskop 333 KT, in Steelpoort, within the Fetakgomo Tubatse Locality Municipality Sekhukhune District Municipality Limpopo Province. The above-mentioned grave areas will be affected by mining-related activities of the Samancor Chrome Limited - Eastern Chrome Mines project area. The graves once positively identified will be relocated to a newly identified area on the Farm Spitskop 333KT (S-24.787000 E 30.156833), near Steelpoort in the Fetakgomo Tubatse Municipality, in accordance with the requirements of the Next-of-kin. We will be assisted on this project by local service providers. The stakeholder engagement process, to identify the closest next of kin for the graves commenced on 16 May 2019.
