Common Name: Site N10/3 S2
Site is situated on the farm Langlaagte 262, within the fenced farm boundary, but immediately adjacent to the road reserve. Proximity of the site to the development area is of crucial importance. The site demarcates the grave of Roy Owen, former owner of the property, who was murdered on the farm (Pers. Comm.: R. van Rensburg, landowner – Tel / Cell: 082 877 7226); the site is thus of particular cultural sensitivity and sentiment. The singular grave is identified with an inscribed plague that reads: ‘Mount Owen – In memory of the late Roy John Owen – 29/07/1963 - 15/01/2006 – The farm Knapzakfontein will in future be known as Mount Owen – Roy dearly loved this land.’
