Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

The proposal consist of an entire new first floor, with 2 bedrooms, lounge kitchen and open verandah. The owner intends applying for sectional title and seperatting the two levels into a masonitte.

Expanded_Motivation: 

As with all house in the Berea / Morningside area's of durban, the houses display the progression over time in style and architecture relevant to the various influences and periods. This house in particular is no different, with its wrap around verandah and steep roof,.its nestled in and around many similar examples and with our proposed changes we have tried to keep the same appearence to the elevations. The original house house been engulfed in various alterations over the years as each owner has changed the layouts to suit their needs at the time. Our proposal intends to have the minimul affect on the existing dwelling and yet still maintain what is there.

With the walls and change in levels being so drastic, getting clear images of neighbours is diffcult for this application
with the issue of high walls, this is the best angle for images of the neighbours house
