ProposalDescription:

Unauthorised alterations to 60 year old structures on 9 Crest Road, Seaview, Durban. A new gym was built as an extension to the existing building by the previous owners of the property. A new building consisting of additional units is to be built on the vacant area of the property

Expanded_Motivation:

The application is to rectify the failure to obtain municipal and Amafa approval for the alterations to the existing building that was over 60 years old at the time the alterations were carried out. The existing building had been altered over the years since it ws first constructed in 1954. The house has no historical value, it does not form part of a heritage streetscape and has no architectural significance. The alterations were carried out at the rear of the property and did not affect the heritage value of the property. Form I has been submitted and the applicable fee has been paid. The proposed work is for an additional building on site that will accommodate multiple units. This building will be built on a separate portion of the land that is higher than the existing building.
