Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Special Notice

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

1. Purpose of the work (Damage/Demolition; Removal from site; Alteration/ Addition; Subdivision): As per previously issued AMAFA Permit 5189. 2. Deviation from current permit. Proposed window changed to stack door and proposed double door omitted. 3. Current Status of the Work: Stopped. Municipal approvals have lapsed. Resubmit plans to Local Authority for consideration. AMAFA approval for deviations required. 4. Detail of the work (Provide full details on the nature and purpose of the work ): Deviated from the approved drawings as per AMAFA Permit 5189: • Bed room added to existing OB. (internal changes to floor layout ground storey). • The position of the double door on the Northern Elevation and the window on the Eastern Elevation was swapped. Drawing Number: CD Greyling 5. Motivation (Motivate the purpose of the work and why it was begun/completed unlawfully): Deviated from the approved drawings as per AMAFA Permit 5189: • There was a need to increase the size of the O.B. to provide more comfortable accommodation for a live-in domestic worker. • The position of the proposed double door was changed to provide more direct access to the back garden and for the installation of 2 x 5000 Litre water tanks for rainwater harvesting.
