ProposalDescription:

Watching brief related to work at the historical Skukuza train bridge and locomotive. This is in the Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga Province.

Expanded_Motivation:

An HIA was done for this project and has been approved by SAHRA. SAHRA recommended that a watching brief be implemented for the project. It included three heritage features at the site, being the historical train bridge, a locomotive and the Steinaecker's Horse Sabi Bridge site. However, the latter will not be impacted any more as no development will be done on that side (north) of the river. SAHRA indicated that a section 35 is needed for work to the train bridge, whereas no permit is needed for the locomotive. This is the section 35 permit application. The watching brief is for one viist per month to view matters and discussions. The project will run for two years and therefore the permit should be for 24 months.
