Status:

HeritageAuthority(s):

ProposalDescription:

The building is located on 591 King Dinizulu Road in Berea. The application requires demolition of existing property on site as the nature of design and use of the existing building is unsuitable for the proposed car showroom. The owner of the property has ownership over the site adjacent (Glenwood Zenex Car Service) and proposes a car dealership for the existing site.

Expanded_Motivation:

King Dinizulu road has rapidly commercialized over the years with a large number of retail stores and commercial activities. The residential area more extensively covers the southern end of Berea and upper Glenwood. The site is located alongside Glenwood Zenex which is a car service area. Further down east of King Dinizulu Road are commercial activities such as a petrol station, retail stores, offices and a supermarket (Spar). With the Zenex car services located next to the site provides an ideal location for the car dealership. This would add to the existing commercial fabric of the context. The site is ideally located with easy vehicular access and an advantageous view from the N3 freeway and lower Berea.
