Case Type:

ProposalDescription:

We are filming a documentary insert on the hominin sites of the Cradle of Humankind, with relevance to the many and recent discoveries made in the area.

Expanded_Motivation:

The recent discoveries of new spp. of Australopithecines and Homo spp in the Cradle of mankind have brought the focus of paleoanthropology back to South Africa, and we wish to record the wealth of detail the Cradle area offers, as well as idocument the new discoveries, and what they mean for our own human evolution. This would take the form of a television short film documenting the new discoveries and contrasting these with the less recent, and providing audiences with a perspective on the fossil finds and their relevance to evolution.
