Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Special Notice

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Black Wattle Colliery (Pty) Ltd is applying to vary its granted mining right in terms of Section 102 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act 2002 (Act 28 of 2002) (MPRDA), for Mining Right MP 30/5/1/2/2/10140 MR (22 MR) to include an additional adjacent mining area, subject to the consent of the Minister of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE). Black Wattle Colliery (Pty) Ltd is simultaneously applying for an EA in order to extend its opencast mining operation in terms of sections 24 and 44 of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act 107 of 1998) (NEMA) read together with Regulations 21, 22, 23 & 24 of the amended Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014 (Government Notice R 982) (EIA Regulations). The proposed opencast expansion project will thus result in the construction and operation of the following infrastructure: haul road, dirty water pipeline, box cut and topsoil material stockpile.
