Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Ndatshana Rural Housing Project

ProposalDescription: 

Establishment of planned 1000 low-cost 40sqm housing units in Ndatshana rural area within Nquthu local municipality which is one of the local municipalities within Umzinyathi District Municipality. This is an in-fills project whereby the new houses will be built in an existing household infrastructure. Most of the beneficiaries have existing houses already, the new ones will be additional in their yard where possible. Location of the house within the homestead was selected by the beneficiaries. Schematic drawing of a low-cost house are loaded in this application.

Expanded_Motivation: 

This is in fulfillment of the housing policy of the KZN Department of Housing to construct suitable and safe houses for low-income rural communities. This fulfills one of housing goals to uplift life in rural areas, addresses inequalities of the past with regards to provision of decent and affordable houses to the people of South Africa. Location of the proposed low-cost houses was indicated by beneficiaries within their existing homesteads. Therefore, no new area is being earmarked for the establishment of the houses
