Changes to SAHRIS!

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Our company has been appointed by Avenge Grinaker Construction Company to affect the relocation of 22 graves that will be affected by construction activities of the upgrading and widening of Route 61, All Saints, Eastern Cape . We will be assisted in this regard by both Titi funerals (Mr. Luvo Titi) and Abathuthuzeli Funeral Parlour Company (Mr. Vuyani Macingwane). In total 22 graves are affected by Avenge Grinaker Operations in the Engcobo Local Municipality. This application is for 22 graves that will be relocated within the boundaries of the properties where they are currently located within the Engcobo Local Municipality.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The graves, affected by construction activities, are located in 5 different locations on the families’ private property along the R61 between All Saints (Section 6) and Baziya (Section 7). The details of the cemeteries and graves are as follows: •A1-A13 Latitude: 28.39525, Longitude: -31.622 This cemetery contains a total of 13 graves (A1 – A13) located on the farm Mputi 7, near Mathatha, Eastern Cape Province. The details of the persons buried here can be found in the attached grave register. The associated next of kin (Ms Phindiwe Witness Sodumo) has requested that the graves be relocated to the other side of the property where they will not be affected by the construction of the road. •B1 Latitude: -31.64682, Longitude: 28.35391 This cemetery contains 1 grave (B1) of an adult male on the farm Mputi 7, near Mathatha, Eastern Cape Province. The details of the person buried here can be found in the attached grave register. The associated next of kin (Mr. Zithulele Owen Ntshakaza) has given permission for the relocation to take place and has requested that the grave be relocated to the Clarkebury Cemetery. •C1 - C3 Latitude: 28.349739, Longitude: -31.647392 This cemetery contains 3 graves (C1 - C3) located on the farm Mputi 7, near Mathatha, Eastern Cape Province. The remains of two adult females and 1 child are buried here. The full details of the persons buried here can be found in the attached grave register. The associated next of kin (Ms Lwandiso Khaba) has given permission for the relocation to take place and has requested that the graves be relocated to the opposite side of the property. •H1 - H3 Latitude: 28.297594, Longitude: -31.655894 This cemetery contains 3 graves (H1 - H3) located on the farm Ntibane 55, near Mathatha, Eastern Cape Province. The remains of 2 adult males and 1 adult female are buried here. The full details of the persons buried here can be found in the attached grave register. The family is represented by Mr Tobias Skeyi and has requested that the 3 graves are relocated to another area on the farm that will not be affected by the construction of R61 road. •I1-I2 Latitude: 28.297636, Longitude: -31.655892 This cemetery contains a total of 2 graves located on the farm Ntibane 55, near Mathatha, Eastern Cape Province. The remains of two adult males are buried here. The details of the persons buried here can be found in the attached grave register. The associated next of kin (Mr Zanandaba Zanga) has given permission for the graves to be relocated and has requested that the graves be relocated to another area on the farm that will not be affected by the construction of R61 road.
