Case Type:

ProposalDescription:

Export of these specimens to Germany is requested both because of the protracted duration of the proposed research projects (1 year) and in order to utilize European facilities for specimen scanning. Digital scans of these specimens are of vital importance for the proposed work, particularly in order to study the internal anatomy of these specimens without causing any physical damage to the fossils.. For example, conclusive determination of whether the braincase elements of SAM-PK-K011409 are fused or unfused will be impossible without detailed scans.

Expanded_Motivation:

Extension requested regards to loan 7492 (SAHRA Case #10031), the temporary export of two fossil specimens of Permian dicynodonts Dr Christian Kammerer to the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin.
