Expanded_Motivation:

Three charcoal samples are to be sent to the USA for radiocarbon dating in advance of publication. The samples come from site Varsche River 003, on farm Varsche Rivier 260, in the Western Cape Province. The dating will take place at DIRECT AMS in Seattle, Washington, USA. The samples come from layers that may be early LSA or very late MSA and dating is sought to clarify the age of the deposits in advance of publication. There is no laboratory in South Africa that can do the dating so it is necessary to go overseas for this service. Samples: THIII - Layer 11 - 0.5g THIII - Layer 14 - 0.3 g THIII - Layer 16 - 0.1 g
