Dear Peter,
As my supervisor, I'm hereby informing you that I am working under extremely stressful conditions. It was hard enough trying to cope with all the responsibilities and pressures when I had a technician, but now it is just impossible.
I'm not impressed that once again, despite the chairman informing everyone in the boardroom about the lack of replacing posts timeously, has simply not had any effect on the powers that be.
The IT Technician post is a critical post and it is almost a month that I've had to do both jobs (even though I'm not a technician), and with the unbelievably frustrating supply chain rule and regulations which makes it impossible to deal with urgent matters. As it now stands the interviews have been moved in first week of November, which means if someone has to give a months notice, we will be very lucky to have someone in place in December. It looks more like it will be January. An impossible situation to say the least.
I'm so far behind with my own work as I've been dealing with technical issues for the past three weeks now.
I just cannot cope like this and I'm putting this on record now. If for some reason we do not find a suitable candidate at the interviews, SAHRA will have to purchase technical hours from and IT Support company to assist this unit, until such time as someone is appointed.
Thank you
Nancy
