Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Permit Applicant: J Claire Dean

Permission is hereby given to J Claire Dean to remove bird droppings at the Southern Shelter at Main Caves within the Giant's Castle Nature Rerserve

Conditions;

1) Before the process starts, J Claire Dean must complete a quantitative and qualitative survey of the affected areas
2) The site must be comprehensively photographed before, during and after the surface restoration has taken place.
3) All rock art must be covered with poly-ethylene paper affixed to clean areas of the parent rock surface with painting (3M) tape, before the cleaning of the bird droppings start.
4) This permit is not transferable without prior written notification to Amafa
5) At any time no more than 12 people may be at Main Caves during this process.
6) A final report resulting from this permit on the restoration of the parent rock and removal of the bird droppings must be submitted to Amafa/Heritage KwaZulu-Natal no later than 30 days after the process was completed. A copy of the report to be lodged at Amafa's library.
7) Amafa reserves the right to cancel this permit upon notice to the permit holder.
8) Amafa will not be held liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities undertaken in connection with this permit.
9) The issuing of this permit does not exempt the applicant for complying with the provisions of any other legislation.
10) Failure to comply with these conditions will render any activity conducted at the site, unlawful, and Amafa reserves the right to cancel the permit and to institute criminal and or civil actions against the person/(s) responsible.

The permit is valid from the date issues until the 26th of May 2013.
