Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Conditions: 

  • The objects or specimens must be clearly marked with accession numbers.
  • The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the accession numbers, the name of the site, and the name and address of Prof. Lee Berger at the University of Witwatersrand or Prof. Svante Pääbo at the Max Planck Institute in Leipzig.
  • The material must be hand carried by Prof. Lee Berger.
  • The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than Prof. Lee Berger without the consent of SAHRA.
  • The remaining material shall be returned to South Africa on or before the end of May 2014 at the expense of Prof. Lee Berger.
  • SAHRA must be notified in writing of the return of the material, and a report on the activities undertaken in terms of this permit must be lodged with SAHRA before the end of May 2014.
  • Copies of all papers or publications resulting from this permit must be lodged with SAHRA.
  • SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
  • SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
