Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation

  1. This permit is issued to Dr van Vollenhoven for the detailed recording of all Stone Age occurances and collection of a representative sample of the material affected by the construction of solar energy facility on Farm van Roois Vley. 
  2. Ms van Ryneveld will be the Principal Investigator on site.
  3. Adequate recording methods as specified in the Regulations and Guidelines pertaining to the National Heritage Resources Act must be employed.  Note that the position of all objects collected must be marked on a plan of site.
  4. As requested in the original comment from SAHRA (18 October 2012), the distribution of the artefacts to be collected must be recorded and a photographic record must be established immediately before, during and after mitigation. 
  5. A standard site record form must be lodged with the McGregor Museum.
  6. All material collected, as well as field notes and records, will be curated by the McGregor Museum.
  7. A report on material recovered must be submitted to SAHRA on or before the 31st of May 2014.
  8. Reprints of all published papers or copies of theses and/or reports resulting from this work must be lodged with SAHRA.
  9. If a published report has not appeared within three years of the lapsing of this permit, the report required in terms of the permit will be made available to researchers on request.
  10. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to obtain permission from the landowner for each visit, and conditions of access imposed by the landowner must be observed.
  11. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
  12. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
