Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Conditions: 

1. An archaeologist must be on site during the earth moving/ destruction of these sites.
2. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to obtain permission from the landowner for each visit, and conditions of access imposed by the landowner must be observed.
3. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to protect sites (sites in the non-development zone) to the satisfaction of SAHRA and the landowner.
4. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
5. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
