Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Export of flowstone and breccia samples from Sterkfontein and Swartkrans for chemical analyses

Conditions:

  1. This permit is for the export of breccia and flowstone samples from the national heritage sites of Sterkfontein and Swartkrans for chemical analyses to be undertaken at the CNRS laboratories in Toulouse and Bordeaux, France. 
  2. The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the name of the site, and the name and address of Prof. Kuman and/or Dr Sutton or of the CNRS.
  3. The material must be hand carried unless written instructions to the contrary have been received from the permit holders, Prof. Kuman and Dr Sutton.
  4. The samples must be kept for study purposes only, and may not be sold or exchanged.
  5. The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than Prof. Braga, Dr Bruxelles, Dr Maire, Dr Ortega and Dr Roudeau without the consent of SAHRA.
  6. SAHRA must be notified in writing of the return of the material, and a report on the activities undertaken in terms of this permit must be lodged with SAHRA before the end of July 2014.
  7. Copies of any papers that may result from the export of the material must be lodged with SAHRA. A report must be submitted to SAHRA on or before the end of July 2014.
  8. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
  9. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holders.
