Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Export of Papio fragments and fragmentary midshaft of unidentifiable taxon

Conditions: 

This permit is for the export of two fragments of dentition of Papio sp. and one fragment of midshaft from an unidentified taxon from the site of Drimolen. The specimens will be analysed at the synchrotron facilities in Trieste, Italy. 

Conditions:

  1. The objects must be clearly marked with accession numbers.
  2. The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the accession numbers, the name of the site, and the name and address of Dr Menter or Prof. Moggi-Cecchi.
  3. SAHRA understands that the material will be hand carried from South Africa to Italy unless written instructions to the contrary have been received from the repository, the University of the Witwatersrand.
  4. The samples must be kept for study purposes only, and may not be sold or exchanged.
  5. The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than Prof. Iacopo Moggi-Cecchi without the consent of SAHRA.
  6. The material will be analysed at the Synchrotron Facility in Trieste, Italy and Prof. Moggi-Cecchi or Prof. Boschi, from the Department of Biology at the University of Pisa, will hand carry the material to Trieste. 
  7. SAHRA must be notified in writing of the return of the material, and a report on the activities undertaken in terms of this permit must be lodged with SAHRA before the end of September 2014.
  8. Copies of any papers that may result from the export of the material must be lodged with SAHRA. 
  9. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
  10. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
