Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

This permit is issued to Dr Morris who acts on behalf of the developer and landowner Davilox (Pty) Ltd through Mr Minnie of PZK Beleggings 3000 CC.

1. This permit allows only the destruction of the area of the Kathu Townlands Site included in Figure 1 of the "A supplemental report for the second Phase 2 archaeological data recovery at the site of Kathu Townlands for Erf 5116: Kathu, Northern Cape Province" dated 5 September 2013 by Walker et al. 
2. The destruction of the site must be monitored by an archaeologist along with all earth moving activities proposed in this sensitive area as defined in Figure 3 Page 7 of the "A second Phase 2 archaeological data recovery at the site of Kathu Townlands for Erf 5116: Kathu, Northern Cape Province" dated 26 August 2013 by Walker et al.
3. SAHRA requires that the professional archaeologist monitoring the destruction of the site be a Stone Age expert familiar with the site. The name and qualification of the archaeologist in question should be submitted to SAHRA for approval. 
4. A report from the destruction activities must be submitted to SAHRA by the archaeologist monitoring the activities by the end of September 2014.
5. Any deviations from the plan included in the Phase 2 report by Walkers et al. of the 28th of August 2013 must be submitted and approved by SAHRA.
6. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
7. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
