Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Conditions: 

1. SAHRA understands that there will be photographic recording of developing teeth and generation of impressions (at Wits) and dental impressions and peels will be made of each permanent tooth crown.
2. The objects or specimens must be clearly marked with accession numbers. The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the accession numbers, the name of the site, and the name and address of the permit holder or the Bernard Price Institute, Wits.
3. The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than those mentioned ere without the consent of SAHRA.
4. The material shall be returned to South Africa on or before 1 November 2009. 

5. It is understood that the teeth will be hand-carried from Wits to Grenoble in late October by Tanya Smith and returned to Wits by Jacopo Moggi-Cecchi in December or by Paul Tafforeau in February, or failing that at the expense of Tanya Smith.
6. SAHRA must be notified in writing of the return of the material, and a report on the activities undertaken in terms of this permit must be lodged with SAHRA before 1 November 2009.
7. Copies of all papers or publications resulting from this permit must be lodged with SAHRA.
8. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
9. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
10. This permit is subject to a general appeal and may be suspended should an appeal against the decisions be received by SAHRA within 14 days from the date of the permit. SAHRA may not be held responsible for any costs or losses incurred in the event of the suspension or retraction of this permit.
