Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Conditions: 

1. Adequate recording methods as specified in the Regulations and Guidelines pertaining to the National Heritage Resources Act must be used. The position of all existing graffiti must be marked on a plan of the site, and a full photographic record of the affected surfaces must be made before and after removal. Likewise the nature and extent of the extraneous material removed should be documented. No disturbance of the original deposit of the shelter is allowed.
2. A record must be made of all methods used to remove the graffiti.
3. Copies of the records must be lodged with HWC.
4. A final report is due on or before 1 June 2005.
5. Reprints of all published papers, or copies of theses or reports resulting from this work must be lodged with HWC.
6. If a published report has not appeared within three years of the lapsing of this permit, the report required in terms of the permit will be made available to researchers on request.
7. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to obtain permission from the landowner for each visit, and conditions of access imposed by the landowner must be observed.
8. HWC shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
9. HWC reserves the right to cancel this permit upon notice to the permit holder.
