Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation

Export of five non-hominin dental remains for ESR analyses

Conditions: 

This permit is issued to Dr Kuhn for the temporary export of five non-hominin dental remains collected from the surface of Equus Cave within the Taung National Heritage Site. The sample will undergo ESR dating at the Geoscience Centre at the Southern Cross University in Australia. 

Conditions:

  1. The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the name of the site, and the name and address of Dr Kuhn and of Dr Joannes-Boyau.
  2. The material must be hand carried or sent via a reputable professional courier service. SAHRA preferred option is always for the samples to be hand carried. If a courier service must be used, please provide SAHRA with the company details. 
  3. The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than Dr Joannes-Boyau at the Southern Cross University without the consent of SAHRA.
  4. The material shall be returned to South Africa on or before the end of September 2015.
  5. SAHRA must be notified in writing of the return of the material.
  6. Copies of all papers or publications resulting from this permit must be lodged with SAHRA.
  7. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
  8. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
