Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Boerdraai 228 and Wessels 227 Portion 2 is situated approximately 80 km northwest of Kuruman along the R380 and approximately 80 km north of Kathu in the Joe Morolong Local Municipality within the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality in the Northern Cape Province.

SiteComments: 

A feeding and water trough was identified at this location most probably associated with the farming activities associated with the nearby farm house (Site BD 13). The feeding trough is 4m long and the water trough 10m long. It is clear that both these have been in unused for a long period of time. Both these have been built by making use of unbaked clay bricks.
