Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Application for Permit to Film STEM Material for South African and East African Students

Conditions: 

1. The 11 IDEA SA crew members on site during filming will be Max Pugh (Director /Cameraman), Mark Francis (Director /Cameraman), Corrin Varady (Producer), Julia Jordaan (Art Director), Micaela Esch (Production Manager), First Assistant Camera Man, Second Assistant Camera Man Loader, Data Wrangler Production, Sound Mixer and 2 other assistants.

2. Monitoring and supervision will be done by Lindsey Smith (Assistant Director, Management Authority, Cradle of Humankind) and Lee Berger (researcher, University of the Witwatersrand).

3. Filming will take place at Malapa Fossil Site within the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site.

4. Filming equipment consists of 2x Canon 60 5D, 10x batteries charger, 8x memory cards, 2x Canon 70 x 200mm F4 lens, 1x Canon 50mm F 1.8 lens, 1x Canon 50mm F 1.2 lens, 1x Canon 16-35mm F 2.8 lens, 1x Canon 24-105 F 4 lens, 1x DR-100 Tascam audio recorder, 1x Rode NTG-30 mic with cables, Sennheiser radio mics with cables (pair), 2x Rode windjammers, 1x Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera + lens + 4 batteries, 2x Rolling case for above and lens cases, Portable LED interview light, Pop up reflector, 2x international power adaptors, vehicle DC / AC converter for charging equipment from 12V car socket, 2x audio mic pair, 2x directional mic, 2x boom pole, 2x mixer and external sound recorder, 2x tripod and baseplate, 2x Manfrotto monopod with baseplate Gaffer tape, 1x 35mm Rokinon Cine lens 1x Tamron Macro lens.

5. Filming will take place on 2 days between 18 and 22 August 2015.

6. The amount of traffic, i.e. numbers of people on site, should be minimised as much as possible to avoid excessive disturbance of the site.

7. A report on activities related to the permit must be submitted to SAHRA on or before the 31 August 2016. SAHRA reserves the right to withhold further permits if a report is not received or is not satisfactory.

8. Copies of the filming resulting from this work must be lodged with SAHRA on or before the 31 August 2016.

9. SAHRA acknowledges the submitted landowner permission to film at Malapa Fossil Site.

10. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.

11. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit upon notice to the permit holder.
