Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Filming of "Tapping IN - The Happiest People and Places" Programme at Sterkfontein Caves

Conditions: 

1. The 5 Swain Entertainment crew members on site during filming will be Linda Swain (Host), Darryl Rode (Director of Photography), Jodi Rode(Field Producer), Gillian Ryan (Camera Operator) and Ian Swain (Producer).

2. Monitoring and supervision will be done by Lindsey Marshall (Management Authority, Cradle of Humankind), who will also be interviewed, and another representative  of the Cradle of Humankind Management Authority.

3. Filming will take place at Sterkfontein Caves within the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site.

4. Filming equipment consists of 2 Sony EX3 cameras, Gopro, 2 lavalier Mics, 1 tripod, 2 base plates, 3 memory cards, 2 big batteries, Ice light, 2 sets of headphones, 1 light stand and 1 light. Please note that only handheld, battery operated equipment is allowed within caves and excavation areas.

5. Filming will take place on 1 day in September 2015.

6. The amount of traffic, i.e. numbers of people on site, should be minimised as much as possible to avoid excessive disturbance of the site.

7. A report on activities related to the permit must be submitted to SAHRA on or before the 30 September 2016. SAHRA reserves the right to withhold further permits if a report is not received or is not satisfactory.

8. Copies of the filming resulting from this work must be lodged with SAHRA on or before the 30 September 2016.

9. SAHRA acknowledges the submitted landowner permission to film at Sterkfontein caves.

10. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.

11. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit upon notice to the permit holder.
