SiteComments:

The possible foundations of the old Convict Station and/or Male Leper Wards have been found during excavation of a trench for a boundary fence along the southern side of the old cricket pitch. The slabs are roughly 3m wide and about 20cm deep, with a narrow space (about 0.8cm wide) between them. Their full extent is unknown, as only a small portion has been exposed. Another, older, portion of stone walling was uncovered to the east of this in the same trench.
