Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

The South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA) would like to inform you that after careful deliberation, it has decided to approve your application for a permit to export Irma Stern's 'Mother and Child'. under certain conditions.

The following conditions apply:

  1. The permanent export permit for the artwork 'Mother and Child' by Irma Stern is issued on condition that the artwork will be made accessible to the South African public for exhibition as well as for research by the South African public.  Anyone acquiring access to the artwork shall be responsible for approaching the owner thereof and covering the costs in that regard. Subsequent successors in title shall be bound by this condition. The owner shall be responsible to make this condition known and assure that the new owner understands this condition. SAHRA must be informed if the artwork is sold or otherwise alienated as well as be informed of the details of the new owner.  
  2. The SAHRA must be informed if the artwork is not exported. 
  3. The SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit. 
  4. In accordance with the application received on 24 January 2016, should any appeal against the issuing of this permit be received by SAHRA within fourteen days of the date of this permit, the permit will be suspended pending the outcome of the appeal. 
  5. SAHRA shall not be held liable for any losses incurred resulting from the suspension of the permit. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit upon notice to the permit holder.
