Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Synchrotron scanning of Heterodontosaurus

For temporary export of the following Heterodontosaurus tucki specimen: AM4766

The permit is issued to Dr. Jonah Choiniere (University of the Witwatersrand), in collaboration with Dr. Vincent Frenandez (ESRF), to temporarily export an almost complete skeleton of the dinosaur Heterodontosaurus tucki for synchrotron analysis at the ESRF, Grenoble, France. The material is officially housed at the Albany Museum, Grahamstown.

Conditions:

1. Only the selected representative of the material stored in the collection may be exported.

2. The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the name of the site (if known), and the name and address of the permit holder or the Albany Museum, Grahamstown.

3. The material will be hand-carried by Dr. Jonah Choiniere to the ESRF.

4. Dr. Vincent Fernandez is responsible for the analysis of the material.

5. Dr. Jonah Choiniere is responsible for its transport to and from the above mentioned institution.

6. The specimen must be used for study purposes only, and may not be sold or exchanged.

7. The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than the above stated participants in the study, without the consent of SAHRA.

8. Destructive analysis or sampling may not be undertaken.

9. A report on the activities undertaken in terms of this permit must be lodged with SAHRA before 31 July 2017.

10. Copies of any papers that may result from the export of the material must be lodged with SAHRA.

11. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.

12. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.

13. Request to renew permits must be done at least two months prior to the expiry of the existing permit.
