Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout

McGregor Museum second rock engraving of uncertain provenance for temporary loan to Rijks Museum 2017

The South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA) would like to inform you that, after careful deliberation, it has decided to approve your application for a permit to temporarily export a rock engraving (MMK RAC 61) of uncertain provenance for temporary loan to Rijks Museum 2017. 

Conditions:

  1. The objects or specimens must be clearly marked with accession numbers. 
  2. The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the accession numbers, the name of the site, and the name and address of the permit holder or the curating institution.
  3. The material must be accompanied by a curator or sent via a reputable professional courier service unless written instructions to the contrary have been received from the repository, the McGregor Museum.
  4. The Rijks Museum will be responsible for the object and its safekeeping for the duration of the exhibition until its return to the McGregor Museum.   
  5. SAHRA must be notified in writing regarding the arrangement for the transport of the object before its export and return to South Africa. 
  6. The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than the Rijksmuseum without the consent of SAHRA.
  7. SAHRA must be notified in writing of the return of the material, and a report on the activities undertaken in terms of this permit must be lodged with SAHRA before 31 December 2017.
  8. Copies of all publications, catalogues, and media resulting from this exhibition must be lodged with SAHRA.
  9. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
  10. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
