Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

The South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA) issues this Permanent Export Permit to the applicant; Penny Culverwell (Bonhams) on behalf of the owner; to permanently export the painting entitled 'Jonkershoek, Stellenbosch' by J.H Pierneef to Bonhams Auction House in London, England.

Object Description:
Jonkershoek, Stellenbosch (1921) by J.H Pierneef.
Landscape painting depicting the mountains around Jonkershoek, near Stellenbosch. A small mountainous ridge enters from the left hand side of the painting, with peaks of the Hottentots Holland Mountains in the distance.  The foreground is filled with low scrub vegetation with a few sparse trees.

The following conditions must be applied: 

  1. The SAHRA must be informed if the objects are not exported. 
  2. The SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit. 
  3. In accordance with the application received on 18th July 2017, should any appeal against the issuing of this permit be received by SAHRA within fourteen days of the date of this permit, the permit will be suspended pending the outcome of the appeal. Should an appeal be lodged, it is the responsibility of the applicant to return the objects to South Africa at their own expenditure. The objects may not be sold during the 14 day window period from the issuing of this permit.
  4. SAHRA shall not be held liable for any losses incurred resulting from the suspension of the permit. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit upon notice to the permit holder.
