Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

This permit is issued to Dr Justin Pargeter (Stony Brook) in collaboration with Ms Celeste Booth (Albany Museum) and Dr Emma Loftus (Oxford University) for the permanent export of 10 3-4 gram charcoal sample for radiocarbon dating at the Oxford Radiocarbon Accelerator Unit of the University of Oxford. 

Conditions:

  1. The objects or specimens must be clearly marked with accession numbers. 
  2. The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the accession numbers, the name of the site, and the name and address of the permit holder.
  3. The material must be hand carried or sent via a reputable professional courier service unless written instructions to the contrary have been received from SAHRA
  4. The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than Dr Emma Loftus without the consent of SAHRA.
  5. SAHRA must be notified in writing of the return of any remaining samples not analysed, and a report on the activities undertaken in terms of this permit must be lodged with SAHRA before 31 August 2018.
  6. Copies of all papers or publications resulting from this permit must be lodged with SAHRA.
  7. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
  8. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
