Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

History:
Visual Description: Set back Victorian house with decorative wing and verandah. Tiled saddle roofs with fine cast iron ridge crests and gable with fretwork bargeboarding, finials and moulded ninche. Walls have rustication, moulded architraces and heavy corner quoins. Verandah with concave roof with fretwork fringes, supports and railings. Left end glazed. Wide single 4 panel (arched tops) door and 2 pane fanlight. 6 x 6 sashes with louvred shutters. Bay with roof, dentils and slightly arched 4 x 4 sashes. Front garden with wrought iron fence and gates. (John Shaw Fencing Works, Sheffield). Extension with Karoo-type roof and ornamental parapet on. right side. Narrow casement windows.
Colours: Red roofs. White decoration.
