Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

History:
Visual Description: The hall on the corner of the large property has half-hipped roof with ventilation gablets. Gable end in Church Street has wooden porch with triangular roof, 3x3-panel double door with pointed arch and pointed window on each side. Doors, windows and corners have heavy quoin surrounds. Small door in Parsonage Street. Old stone wall along Church Street. The hall is of architectural and cultural value.

The parsonage is ste well back from Church Street behind the hall, with an entrance at 3 Parsonage Street. Cape Dutch Revival type with wings and Cape Dutch concavo-convex gables with edge-mouldings and vents. Between the wings is a verandah (on Parsonage Street) with precast pillars. Glazed double door. Side-hing Edwardian-type windows with inside shutters. The house is of local architectural and cultural value.
