History: The church building in Pacaltsdorp was consecrated in 1825 and is one of the most impressive of the remaining examples of the early Gothic revival in South Africa. Near the church stands the original parsonage which was erected in 1835, the present parsonage which dates back to 1882, and also the historic single room which was erected between 1813 and 1818, where the Rev Carl Pacalt, founder of Pacaltsdorp, originally lived. These buildings together form a unique historical and architectural group.
