Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

he GP site NSW2012/001 is located on the farms between 40 km and 65 km northeast of Pofadder.

SiteComments: 

Large artefact scatter in a ‘bay’ at the foot of the cliff below the mine. Very disturbed but could still be rescued as the
original context (i.e. surface scatter) has not been changed – spatial data will have been lost though. LSA flaked stone artefacts of quartz, silcrete, quartzite and CCS. Two MSA flakes were also included but these would likely have been background scatter. Also on the site were fragments of undecorated pottery, bone and OES.
