Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Special Notice

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Housing Development Project on Rhenosterspruit farm

ProposalDescription: 

the Department of Local Government and Human Settlements intends to develop a township with basic services (water, electricity, sanitation and roads). The project will entail the development of 2500 affordable housing for lower income groups of Rhenosterspruit and will contribute to alleviating the current housing need in the area. Each housing unit/stand will be serviced with electricity, potable water and sanitation. The proposed Development will entail the following: • development of approximately 2500 units measuring +-350m2 • mixed development which will consist of a shopping Centre, • range of community facilities, e.g. open space ,crèches ,schools ,churches etc. • a variety of housing typologies including medium density typologies and free standing dwellings on a large erven targeted at middle and high income households. • Construction of internal road • Water, sewage and electricity reticulation infrastructure The extent of the site for the proposed development is approximately 150 hectares.
