Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Proposal to export micromammal bone fragments for the purposes of species identification by ZooMS – feasibility test (NHRA section 35(4))

This permit is issued to Prof. Christopher Henshilwood in collaboration with Drs Turid Hillestad Nel, Patrick Roberts and Katarina Douka, for the temporary export of 23.52 grams of microfauna for ZooMS ananlysis to be undertaken at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History (MPI-SHH) in Jena, Germany. 

Conditions:

  1. The objects or specimens must be clearly marked with accession numbers. 
  2. The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the accession numbers, the name of the site, and the name and address of the permit holder or the Iziko Museums of South Africa
  3. The material will be hand carried by Dr Turid Hillestad Nel unless written instructions to the contrary have been received from the repository. 
  4. The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than Drs Katarina Douka and Patrick Roberts (Max Planck Institute) without the consent of SAHRA.
  5. The material shall be returned to South Africa on or before 31 March 2020 at the expense of the permit holders. 
  6. SAHRA must be notified in writing of the return of the material, and a report on the activities undertaken in terms of this permit must be lodged with SAHRA either before 31 March 2020 but no later than 31 December 2020.
  7. Copies of all papers or publications resulting from this permit must be lodged with SAHRA.
  8. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
  9. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
